2007 Brownlow Medal - Winner Jimmy Bartel
Geelong's Jimmy Bartel has won the 2007 AFL Brownlow Medal, polling 29 votes despite missing the final two games of the 2007 season.
Bartel finished seven votes ahead of Brisbane Lions' Simon Black, West Coast's Daniel Kerr and the Kangaroos' Brent Harvey, who all finished on 22 votes.

Gary Ablett Jnr, the favourite before the Brownlow count began, polled 20 votes. Bartel and Ablett sat beside each other during the count and the former expected the favourite to win.
"It's been interesting all night, we've been having a bit of a laugh," Bartel said. "He did very well, but I definitely saw him up here instead of myself."
Geelong coach Mark Thompson said Bartel had been an integral member of the side and deserved his victory.
Bartel is Geelong's fifth Brownlow winner and as one of Geelong's nine All-Australians this season he averaged 27 disposals a game in his 20 home and away matches.
