The Brownlow Medal is the official "best and
fairest" award of the Australian Football League. Votes are
awarded by the umpires at the end of each match of each round of
the regular season. At the conclusion of the regular season votes
are totaled and the best and fairest player is announced prior to
the AFL grand final.

2008 Brownlow Medal
In 2007, Geelong's Jimmy Bartel
won the 2007 AFL Brownlow Medal, polling
29 votes despite missing the final two games of the 2007 season.
In 2008 Jimmy has had a cracking start to the year and along with
teammate Gary Ablett Jnr he is right up there among the favourites
for the 2008 Brownlow.
